Join us for the fourth edition of Shake! because we’ve got another double whammy for you this April — Night Slugs’ L-Vis 1990 and Helix!!
As one of the founders of the Night Slugs label alongside Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990 defined a fresh approach to club music that acknowledges its history without being burdened by it. His tracks are perfectly balanced, with jacking grooves to get everyone off the wall and the production ingenuity to make the heads freak out. We can’t imagine a better place to host him than the Good Life basement. Get ready to move.

If one of the Night Slugs founders wasn’t enough for you, we brought along one of the label’s later signees. Helix first appeared on Night Slugs with the “Drum Track” white label in 2012 before dropping Club Constructions Vol. 4 the following year. Since then he’s been active under his DJ Vague alias, but most recently fired off a ripping FACT mix that shows off his knowledge of a wide range of party music and the DJ skills to tie it all together.

Dev/Null (Pete Cassin) got started by listening to Crazy Jungle / DNB in the mid to late 90’s, which then lead him to music production. He was able to release much of his brain-busting experimental breakcore music on several notable European labels and perform shows in the UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Japan. Dev/Null now focuses much of his time on his website BLOG TO THE OLDSKOOL, 7 years running, that is dedicated to oldskool UK hardcore/jungle, as well as DJ-ing biweekly sets on online stations Jungletrain.net and Radio Frontline. Additionally, Dev/Null started a label 8205 RECORDINGS dedicated to releasing unreleased 91-95 UK Jungle on vinyl, and was recently listed as one of Fact Magazine’s “100 Underrated DJs Who Deserves More Shine”.
